What Excelso is
Excelso is the Colombian export classification for washed Arabica retained on screen 15/16 — one size below Supremo. It is widely used as the volume grade of Colombian coffee, by buyers who need a consistent, well-prepared washed Arabica rather than a named micro-lot.
Like Supremo, Excelso describes bean size and preparation, not cup score. We supply it with the cup profile stated so you know what you are blending with.

Where Excelso fits
Excelso is the working grade for espresso and filter blends, private-label retail and food service, where the cost per kilogram and consistency across containers matter more than the size of the bean. For a larger, more uniform screen take Supremo 17/18; for traceable single-farm coffee take specialty lots.
