Gesha is a low-yielding variety with a long maturation cycle. Grown at altitude and processed carefully, it is associated with floral and tea-like cup profiles — jasmine, bergamot and stone fruit are common descriptors — though the actual profile depends on the farm, the harvest and the processing of each lot.
Variety alone does not determine quality: altitude, picking and fermentation all influence the result, and lots of the same variety cup differently. For that reason we quote Gesha lot by lot, with the farm, altitude, process and score stated, and we recommend cupping before any commitment.
| Type | Typical processing | Profile direction |
|---|---|---|
| Gesha, washed | Washed, controlled fermentation | Jasmine, bergamot, white tea, clean citrus acidity |
| Gesha, natural | Natural, extended drying | Tropical fruit, floral, syrupy body |
| Pink Gesha | Washed or natural | Floral with red fruit and a rounder sweetness |
